Conzelmann, Hans

(1915–89)

   Theologian.

   Conzelmann was a student of Rudolf bultmann at the University of Marburg. He himself taught at the Universities of Zürich and Göttingen. A New Testament specialist, Conzelmann’s best-known works are on the Third Gospel and the Acts of the Apostles. He was less sceptical than Bultmann about the historical value of the New Testament narratives and he was a participator in what has come to be called ‘the new quest for the historical Jesus’.
